On the ground floor of the legendary hotel The Savoy, Russell Sage Studio was engaged to restore and redesign the iconic Savoy Grill. Inspiration was drawn from the hotel’s art deco roots: walls were painstakingly paneled in tortoiseshell Vitrolite glass and backed with hand-applied gold leaf, to create a warm, atmospheric glow and a partnership with Swarovski resulted in four dramatic chandeliers. The restaurant’s original table plan, which includes Winston Churchill’s favourite table, was preserved. The studio was also responsible for overseeing the restaurant’s branding, uniform design, photography, and PR.
